Your musical gifts can be a gift to others.  If you are a middle or high school singer or instrumentalist, you are invited to participate in music outreach concerts at Herndon UMC that will benefit various charitable organizations by providing hope, healing, and resources to the local and global community.

Students participating in each event will receive service hours for both rehearsals and performances held at Herndon UMC.

Here are some ways you can share your vocal and instrumental talents in community service in the 2023-2024 school year:

December 9 | Holiday Hallelujah Concert

Vocalists and ensembles are invited to participate in this concert of holiday music.  The concert will feature the Madrigals and orchestral ensembles from Herndon High School and Herndon Middle School.  After a brief intermission, celebrate the season with Herndon UMC’s Festival Choir (including voices from the community) and DC Strings, Accord Symphony Orchestra as they perform part of Handel’s Messiah.

Donations from this concert will benefit DC Strings in their mission to to bring music to all parts of DC and highlight the beautiful diversity that exists in classical music including a newly forming relationship with Herndon pyramid schools. DC Strings realizes that mission to share and present music to underserved areas of the region through a mix of performance, education and dynamic masterclasses and workshops.
