Herndon UMC's Neighbors in Need Ministry is looking forward to supporting a new mission. The beneficiary is Comfort Cases. Comfort Cases provides critical support to children in crisis, whether they are entering the foster care system, removed from a home for allegations of abuse, facing homelessness, or temporarily displaced for emergencies or other reasons. To learn more about Comfort Cases, visit comfortcases.org.

We can help by providing a backpack or duffel bag filled with new items the youth can keep and call their own. We seek to provide these essential personal items so that kids in need have a sense of dignity during a time of crisis. Having a comfort case provides them with the ability to use their own items to shower, sleep, and feel secure regardless of where they are. Additionally, the case itself can be used to carry personal items that may be meaningful to the child.

Items will be collected in early June and the packing will be a part of the festivities on Mission Sunday, June  17.  Below are items we will be collecting - all new items please. If you find them on sale, buy early!  We are collecting for newborns through 18 years.
