Upward Basketball at HUMC

Dear Parents,

I am very excited about our "Opening Day" Upward Basketball games on Saturday. The kids have put in a lot of effort during their practices and are looking forward to playing.

I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that the Upward League is a completely VOLUNTEER based Ministry. All of our referees are volunteers. Many of them, teens and adults alike, have never refereed before. They are giving selflessly of their time and doing their best. I guarantee you - they WILL make MISTAKES! Remember they are learning too! Please support them and set a good example for all of our players. We will teach them more through our actions than our words and they will learn more about life lessons through our example in how we handle difficult situations. This is why we pray before each game - we pray that our actions will honor Jesus. And to have fun of course!
