Referees
What is required of an Upwards referee?
There will be a training session which you will be required to attend. As a referee, you will be required to:
- Uphold the vision of the Basketball, by balancing competition with Christlikeness.
The training session will explain how to balance this.
- You will need to be at the gym 15 minutes prior to the start of the game you are scheduled to referee. It is not
recommended that you referee your own child’s game, but most likely this may happen from time to time.
- Communicate any rule breaking immediately with the child who "broke the rule" in a timely manner with affirmation.
- Communicate concerns or issues with parents or children to the Upward Basketball League Director.
